is all most practitioners get between patients

Three panes to steady the shift

Each tool is a self-contained chamber — enter, reset, and step back out lighter.

“A regulated clinician is a safer clinician.”

Breath Chambers

Guided 90-second to 5-minute resets tuned for ward noise — paced breathing and progressive muscle release you can start between two patients.

Shift Moods

A private daily check-in that learns your flare-up patterns, then recommends the one exercise that fits the state you're actually in.

Code Red

One tap when the room goes hot. A 30-60 second technique that loads offline, needs no set-up, and leaves nothing on the screen behind you. A 30-second reset can change the next 30 minutes.

I used to ride the adrenaline for nine hours. The breath chambers gave me a door I can walk through mid-shift.

I was sceptical — another app wasn't going to fix a staffing problem. But it gave me ninety seconds I wasn't taking. That's real.

Questions, answered

Why not one of the big wellness platforms my hospital already licenses?+

Because those were built for office workers and then sold to hospitals. CalmShift is built only for clinical shift work — 2-5 minute sessions, Code Red for acute spikes, and scheduling that follows a rota instead of a 9-to-5.

Is any of this visible to my employer?+

No. CalmShift is an individual, confidential subscription. We never report usage, moods, or assessment scores to an employer, and you can permanently delete your data at any time.

Burnout is a systemic problem. Can an app honestly help?+

It cannot fix understaffing, and we won't pretend otherwise. What it can do is give you evidence-informed regulation skills so the system takes less out of you while you decide what to change.

I have no time. How long does this actually take?+

One minute for the daily check-in, two to five for an exercise, thirty seconds for Code Red. If you only have ninety seconds, it offers ninety seconds.

Is this therapy or a medical device?+

Neither. It's a self-regulation practice with a non-diagnostic burnout assessment. If you're in crisis, the app points you to real human help immediately.
